This rope swing, hanging from a tree at the end of a secluded beach, has become a popular destination for adventurous travelers and Instagram enthusiasts alike. The swing itself is a fun way to enjoy the stunning scenery, with the added thrill of soaring over the Pacific Ocean.

An interesting fact about Kirby Cove is that it was once a military outpost, with historic batteries and fortifications still visible along the trails. The area has since been transformed into a beautiful park, managed by the National Park Service, offering a variety of activities such as hiking, camping, and picnicking.

Location

Kirby Cove is situated in the Marin Headlands, just north of San Francisco. To reach this picturesque spot, follow these steps:

  1. Drive to the Golden Gate Bridge Vista Point: From San Francisco, cross the Golden Gate Bridge and take the Alexander Avenue exit. Follow the signs to the Vista Point parking area.
  2. Hike to Kirby Cove: From the parking area, walk past the gate and follow the trail downhill for about one mile. The trail offers scenic views and leads you directly to Kirby Cove Beach.
  3. Find the Swing: Once at the beach, head to the far east end where the swing is located. Keep an eye out for the tree with the swing hanging from it.
