Trojan Point, a hidden gem located on the western spur of Mount Tamalpais in Mill Valley, California, offers breathtaking views of the Northern California coastline, stretching from San Francisco to Point Reyes. This scenic overlook is renowned for its panoramic vistas, often above the fog, making it a favorite spot for nature photographers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. One moment, the area may be enveloped in cool fog, and the next, it transforms into a stunning landscape revealing the vast Pacific Ocean.

Location

  1. Drive to Mount Tamalpais: Take the Panoramic Highway to Pantoll Road. You can approach from Stinson Beach to the west or from Mill Valley/Highway 1 to the east.
  2. Parking: Park at the large parking lot just off Pantoll Road, located below Ridgecrest Boulevard.
  3. Hike to the Swing: From the parking lot, walk across the road towards the trail entrance marked by wooden fences. Follow the trail to the right, heading uphill for about 50 feet to reach the swing located above O'Rourke's Bench, which offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape and the Pacific Ocean.
